.223 for coyotes

I got one this winter with the t97. I have a Burris xts 135 mounted on the see through mount. Tagged him under 75 yards with 65g hp. Anything over 100 yards i pull out my Mossberg MVP. Good luck and happy hunting

Edit.. The mount in the picture is a cut down Can Ammo mount. It is not see through. I did cut the plastic hand guard so I can clean the rifles gas system without taking off the red dot

Cheers

Surprised you cut the carry handle like that instead of just filing off the plastic area which locks the regulator in.

Got a few from 20 to 140 yards this winter.
The iron sights are almost unusable on movers past 75 yards.
And it's a real pain trying to disengage the safety when you've got a coyote staring at you from under 100 yards...
On the positive side, it's very easy to carry due to its compact length and narrow profile, more so than the tavor.

I also installed the FTU and with the addition of a decent optic this gun is surprisingly accurate out to even 100 yards. Anything past that and i think id go with a traditional bolt gun. But for 100 yards or under (for me anyway) it would work great. And, how cool is dropping coyotes with a bull pup. SUPER COOL.

I have contemplated building a t97 rig with the FTU but have yet to see any comprehensive accuracy tests done. There was a lot of talk on forums about these guns performing better with a proper optic on the ftu but, that seems to have died off after they arrived.

If anyone has done any significant testing of this system, please advise.

Thanks

:accuracy is all about good optic, and the proper ammunition, and lots of time at the range to dial in your rifle, that works for, AR . VZ . T-97. ACR. BOLT SEMI and anything else:sniper:

That said......what kind of consistent 100m accuracy are guys getting with appropriate coyote hunting ammunition??

I'm getting 2-3 MOA with factory ammo. Completely acceptable for coyotes within reasonable range. Still working on reloads to see if I can get it tighter.
