Can anyone reccommend a good manufactured.223 round for coyotes. I was looking at some of the Federal .223 ammo. Any comments on the 55gr Nosler Ballistic tip or the 60gr Nosler Partition? American Eagle? What about some of the 40gr?
Get as many different brands as you can, and try em out. If you know the twist of your rifle barrel it will narrow the search.
I found my .223's shot better with match 52/53 gr handloads, they have a 1-12 twist. I slowed them up a bit to around 3150 fps which is part of why they shot so well I think.
Hope this helps ..

With 1-10 I would say try 55-60 or even heavier and see how that goes.
You will have lots of power even with the those
loads, In a strong wind @ 200-300 you may have some windage to deal with , no biggie, just practice .

My gun shoots the Winchester white box stuff great. Not the 40 round JHP stuff from Wally World, which also shoots good, but is better for gophers. The stuff you want comes in a 50 round box and is loaded with 55gr soft points. They group very well and kill coyotes with no problem. Even if you hit the shoulder bone. Dead.
