Picking up a T3 in 223 want to shoot gophers in southwest Saskatchewan and targets any input on what kind of scope I should get would be much appreciated

It depends on your budget.

I use a Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP 6-24 MRAD on my .223 that I use for shooting gophers for the following reasons:

The scope falls within my budget.
I can use the reticle at different magnifications.
I like the christmas tree reticle to quickly compensate for differences in wind and shooting at different distances instead of dialing all the time.

that's a good one, I like the Leupold VX-3 6.5-20 with the Varmint reticle (they may have newer ones now but you get the idea

Another vote for the Arken 4-16. Got 2 now, used one on my 204 at the end of last season. Really liking the reticle and clarity and especially the price!

I tried this for S&Gs as Athlon has been doing some really good stuff in their entry scopes. I am very impressed with the Talos Gen2 10X scope. If you don't need a variable, the cost is silly for the performance you get.

I would strongly recommend looking at the latest from Athlon as they are continually upgrading the glass and mechanicals, without a jump in pricing.
