So i was loading my 223 with h335 25.2gr with a 55gr campro projectile at 2.258 col and was geting 2850fps from a 16" ar15 . Shoots 1moa at 100 yds . Im super happy with it . Then i went to londero sport to get some more powder had a chat to the guy anyways he talks me into trying bcl2 instead . So i try it . And found these results . Fyi that 16" ar is my benchmark testing rifle ok . Its a ####ty dpms that i dont care if i blow it to pieces. So loaded 26.5gr and a max load of 27.3gr . And found 100fps varence between the 2 the 26.5 shoots at 2730fps and the 27.3gr shoots 2850 fps . But wholy crap does it recoil like a cut cat . Any of you guys find this ? I loaded them to the same col as im loading bulk from a xl650.. bcl2 gives me more powder for less fps and more felt recoil . .....

BLC2 is slower than H335 but I'm surprised you can feel a significant difference in recoil. Your H3335 and BLC2 loads should develop very similar pressures according Hornady's reloading website. I prefer H335 for 55gr bullets in my AR15 though.

Why do you load them so long? You are nearly at mag length with a 55FMJ. Excessive recoil is a sign of big pressure, hard to tell how dramatic it was from your anecdotal description though.

With 55 grain bullets, H335 is the absolute way to go - don't try to reinvent the wheel on that one. If you ever go to a heavier bullet weight, especially the 69+ grain range, then BLC-2 is surprisingly good.
