does anyone know what kind of powder hornady uses in these rounds? they shoot great in my tikka and i'd like to make my own.

try varget with the same weight vmax bullet (or really any similar powder) get to the same velocity and your gun should should shoot the same perormance wise

Your rifle can tell you better than us. Try a few different powders listed in reloading manuals that show good velocities and try them in your rifle. What might be a light load in my rifle could be over the top in yours. Good luck.

I got my hands on a pound of IMR 8208 and plan on doing some testing. Not sure if the results will be accurate when you have to shoot through clouds of mosquitos.
