Hey CGNers!
I just got a Tikka T3_223Rem for small game + short range deer hunting. I started with load development right from the start. Here is the formula I came up with:
Brass: virgin Lapua
Primer: CCI SR
Powder: Varget 25 gr. (+/- 0.1 gr)
Bullet: Sierra Game King, 55gr. SBT
COAL: just touching the lands
Group: 5 shots, 0.75in (average) at 100m
The powder ladder test was straight forward. But the COAL test was inconclusive; All the groups seem the same. There were tons of people at the range today, brass was flying over my head, on to my bench, so my shooting is likely to be the biggest reason. I'd like to get your opinion on this. Does the overall length has a significant influence on accuracy?
