I've just bought a Tikka Super varmint In .223 Rem with a 1 in 8" twist. I also bought Sierra 77gr HPBT bullets, Varget powder, and CCI BR-4 small rifle primers. Does anybody have a load recipe using these components?

Hi CZ and welcome. I'm only into .223 for IPSC 3 gun/ Plinking. It looks like you've got components for more serious accuracy. I'd check out Hogdon's on line manual. They've got the link stickeyed above. You might also check out the Ammoguide site.

Also, cruise around this site and you'll find info pertaining to load development which again, based upon the components you've acquired, will be of interest to you.

Have fun!

Check the Hodgdon website for some load info. Every rifle is different so you will probably have to find the load that yours likes.

I have the same gun but I'm using Hornadys 75 gr match bullets, and for me so far 100 yard range 25 gr of varget gets me the dime size groups, Hornady 68 gr BTHP bullets with 25.2 gr Varget same, didn't try Sierra 'm looking for heavy varmint bullets fro hunting around 70-80 Gr can't find it all the heavy bullets I have seen are match bullets

Thanks guys, I found the Hodgden site very helpfull. They list the 77gr Sierra HPBT using Varget 21gr-23.7gr with O.A.L 2.26"

The load I'm working on for my Tikka Varmint .223 1:8 is 80gr Amax, 24.5gr Varget, CCI BR4, COAL 2.410 which is approx .030 off the lands in my rifle. I have yet to play with different seating depths, but this load currently shoots 0.32 MOA. So far I've shot it out to 700yd and I'm very happy with the results.

Work up in .1gr increments and make sure your scale can accurately measure to 1/10th gr.
