.223 on Stripper clips(where?)

Ah crap, should of checked this thread yesterday

Yup! And I doubt we'll be seeing much, if any, of that Federal green tip again this year. For the record, here's what it should be selling for in the U.S.:

Check out the video insert below the ammo can photo. It verifies that the clips can be used in both the AR and Mini-14 "Lula" loaders.
Rare find, that stuff!

The Shooting Edge had cases of the PMC X-TAC 62 gr green tip for sale about 8 months ago, but I haven't seen any offered since then:
http://theshootingedge.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_83&products_id=1435 (SFRC also had some the end of 2011).

Something to keep in mind -- and this applies to Norinco as well: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/10/daniel-zimmerman/pmc-x-tac-5-56-ammo-lights-up-the-night/ . Hornady TAP FPD .223/5.56 is deliberately formulated to have low muzzle flash -- and costs a small fortune to stock up on!

Obvious question: Will "Old Faithful" Canada Ammo be handing out some green tip goodies anytime soon? Apparently not: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?817813-223-Rem-5-56-NATO-SS109-M855 .

Again, why not just buy 5.56mm stripper clips and load your ammo by hand onto them? lol

This is the most ridiculous thread.......

Gosh, that's a brilliant idea. Now point the way to a bulk supply of Federal XM855 to slide onto those clips. Preferably a green tip supply that's available in Canada. Norinco isn't steel cored.

Translation: I bought those cans for THE HARD-TO-FIND AMMO ON THE CLIPS, not for ammo on clips. I have plenty of stripper clips and normal milsurp 5.56 already. I'm guessing that a few others here scooped that stuff up for the same reason -- scarcity, since it rarely crosses the border (and may not in the future after the AWB dust settles in the USA).

Randy at Gagnon informs me that another batch of XM855 on stripper clips has just landed on his floor. Website has seven ammo cans listed. Stock up if you're looking for the elusive 62gr green tips.

Leave the laptop at camp and head to town for one night, and I miss er again! lol, guess I'll just save my money
