223 no question. Burns approx. 10 grains less powder, less muzzle blast, can see the hits, barrel lasts 4 times longer, cheaper to shoot, brass is free, if loaded up properly with 53 V-Max can hit anything that a .22-250 can. If/when I need more horsepower I go to the .243 Win. with 70 gr varmageddons, now that is a serious coyote killing machine.Don`t get me wrong, the 22-250 was one of my favourite cartridges until the .223 and especially the .204 came on the scene. The .204 is way better than the 22-250 for all of the same reasons. I just got tired of changing barrels so often.
