.223 Powder Recommendation

I use 20 grns of IMR 4198 under a 55 grn Blitzking and it is nothing short of exceptional.

Personally, i am a huge fan of BLC2. I love it for it's ease to go thru the uniflow.

It is also a very versatile powder that can be used from 223 up to 30-06.

i use the BL-C 2 powder for my 50 gr varmint grenades, and they shoot awesome groups. and its cheeper than most other powders ($30/lb at the store in town)

What is everybody using in their .223? I have a 1:9, and I would like to load 55 SP or vmax or maybe even 53 vmax. I did a search, H335 and IMR 3031 are popular, as is varget (harder to find though?). What does everyone suggest?

I just did a bunch of 55 gr FMJBT with 25.0 gr of H4895.

H4895 in 223 243 and 303.

25gr with 50gr Vamx. nice tight groups. 55gr Vmax works with the same charge. doesn't change point of impact by a significant amount.

BLC2 measures so nice its my goto for plinkers with 55gr fmjbt. I feed it to my AR's without an issue.

I use 26.5gr of Varget in my .223 using the 55gr Berger match bullet. Coyotes and gophers are not that keen on it as well. I think i was getting around 3164 fps with that combo.

For me Benchmark or Varget, in that order.
