Had one in 223 for a few years Shot well. It's now a 6.5 x 55 F-class rig

It's a mid length Savage in disguise so there are lots of aftermarket options now.

Should shoot quite well. If you do get it and don't like the trigger, I can offer you a Timney that will drop in and reduce the trigger pull substantially.

Good action and stock. if it has a 1;7 or 1;8 barrel, with some life left in it, it would be an excellent rifle.
