.223 recipe

well it seems to shoot good i tried some homemade stuff 27.5gr. and 24.5gr. 748 behind 50gr vmax, but it was way to windy to get any real groups so i just shot for the fun. i need some new brass as im just using some shot off korean junk,(dam holidays everyone is closed). but 1 inch with store bought is a good sign of things to come!!

did you find out what twist the barrel has? also did he use the stock gasblock, or is it an aftermarket? there might be some hope for the ranchrifle i own.

sorry i was away. the gas block is stock but was reduced down to help with felt recoil. not sure of all that was required to get the job done but it took a lot of imagination. ive still been trying to get a good load worked out but the wind in sask has been bad for a few days. im now working on 24 gr. 748 using speer .52 hollow point ,24 gr. 748 with .52 gr. berger match hollow point, and 24 gr. 748 with berger .52 gr. match hollow point varmit. all these using win. full sized brass and a federal 205 primer. i will also try these loads using cci primers. i did try some neck size only round but they were a little tight for the semi auto.. ill work it out or go broke trying!!!

i beleive the twist is one in twelve, using a patch and rod through my barrel. im going to try some heavier bullets just to see if the rifle will stabalize them.
