Using a Lee seater, (LEE-223-G9) and from what Mr Google tells me, running out of seater adjustment seems common with this die. You can order a new seating stem from Lee if you send them a bullet, however, dropping bullets in the mail and firing it off to the US seems like a good way to wind up on a list, or worse.

If I were to be looking for another seating die...any suggestions? Was going to pull the trigger on a basic Redding (#92111)...up until I read that maybe I'd have the same problem with that unless I ordered THEIR VLD stem too, lol.

So, any suggestions for out of the box seaters? Would prefer not to be getting into $200 competition type dealies if I can avoid it.

Normally it wouldn't be a huge issue, but the rifle is mag fed, and the resulting COAL with the seater all the way down is 2.275 ish, and it just won't work.

Tempted to try printing a bushing to fit inside the current stem...just for giggles.

Thanks in advance!

My Hornady loads to 2.32 and seems to have another ~.25? to go

Have you looked at maybe trimming a few thou off the bottom of the die body?

i just emailed them telling them I need a longer stem.

Two weeks later it showed up in the mail.

Sending in bullets is for custom jobs where you want the stem to fit you bullet exactly

lol, nevermind, I'm a dummy that can't read directions. I had set the die up similar to one that would crimp, and had backed it off, instead of screwing it a further 1/4 turn past contact with the shell holder, as the directions clearly point out.

sigh.

All good, thanks everyone.
