I am a hobby machinist as well as gunny.
I want to have a go at making a set of 223 rem headspace go-no go gauges.
Looked online but can't find any plans.
Does anyone have plans for a set or perhaps can send me a rough sketch of each gauge.

Thanks Trev,
It sure does help. I am going to download the entire book in case I need anymore info.
I found the details etc I need.
Thanks for the info and help.
Much appreciated.

Welcome!

Before the interwebs come along, info like that was pure gold, and you had to pay rather a lot to get it. Pretty sure a buddy of mine paid well over $50 for a book of prints that was nowhere near as readable as these are, some long time back.

Info the likes of this is also useful while trying to figure out if you can ream out to a different cartridge, or to figure out how much you need to cut off to make the old chamber capable of being reamed away.

Lots of interesting reading in that one.

It sure does make things easier to do. I use youtube a lot to find out how to do things etc.

Youtube videos can either be a big help, or they can send you down a rabbit hole in the wrong direction.
I have seen no bloody end of truly terrible advice and technique WRT machining and metal lathe work on youtube.

Lots of folks seem to think that because they have a video camera and put in the time to make a video, that somehow they should be treated with some level or reverence or respect, whether they have any skill in the field of the video's subject, or otherwise.

There have been a couple youtube 'personalities' that have been rather prolific to the extent that about all I considered them to really have any expertise in, was video editing and uploading. Since I discovered and Add-On to my Browser which blocks their Channels, I no longer contribute to their income stream. :)

But, my comment really was about that before the Internet became 'a thing', you had to figure out, first of all, where to find this information, and then, you had to dig (often enough, quite deep) into your wallet and pay a bunch of money for the documents that contained the info, so that you could sift through it for the data needed.
Now, much of that info is freely available, and pretty easy to find, without having to spend any great amount of time or money.
Many of the professional organizations which used to be quite well hidden in their own little worlds, have become accessible.

I know what you mean and how they treat or look after their machines. You can't go wrong with Abom79, Mr.Pete, Keith Fenner and Doubleboost. I have learned so much from them.

Those gauges are hardened precision ground tools and making them isn't as easy as you might think if you don't have a good grinder and measuring tools , they sell for about $40 a piece I can't see the point of trying to make them raelly.
I have a few sets here depending how far you are from me you are welcome to use them
