Have just acquired a Rem 788 in .223 Rem and we're looking for someone who has a sweet handload to give a try.

I believe the bore is a 1 in 12 twist.

We're looking at 50 and 55 grain bullets for varminting. A long range accuracy load would also be a plus.

Any help would be appreciated.

Im using 23.5 grains of Ramshot Tac under a 55 Hornady FMJ bulk bullet. I also have had success with BL-C (2) under the same bullet.

These are for an AR as well.

I just hate when someone wanna go VARMINTING and he's been suggested to load FMJ bullets!
Buy some Hornady 50-55 V-Max or Nosler 55 Bal Tip and fire them up with 25gr of H-335. You'll be satisfied.

How about 26g of H322 behind a moly coated 50g V-Max, or 26g of VV133, or 27g of Varget, all behind a moly coated 50g V-Max??:D

I would second that 25g H335 load. I just tried it last weekend in my 700 SPS Tactical driving a 55g Ballistic Tip and put 5 rounds into .333 " Definitely will load up some more to see if that was a fluke.
