My depriming pin in my sizer keeps getting stuck in the cases. I've lube the cases by dunking them in a mixture of lee sizing lube and water but they are still getting stuck. Could this have something to do with brass with a military crimp. It is range picked up brass so I don't know what's in it.

why are you dunking them? a light coat of lube on the body, and then either spray the inside of the neck or use a brush. and why are you thinning the lube? Never heard of that being done before. Military crimped primers pop out no problem for me, but then you have to swage or ream the hole after.

I use a smear of imperial dry sizing wax around the neck then get a friend to swage out the crimps and uniform the primer pockets

You shouldn't need to lube the decapping pin. Dunking your cases in anything, especially water based, is going to give you grief. You don't need any lube anywhere but the outside and a wee bit on the expander button. Not in the case.
"...something to do with brass with a military crimp..." It can, but it's more likely the pin is bent a wee bit. What does the head stamp say?

I had the same problem with my RCBS die, the pin would stick in the primer and pull right out of the neck sizing rod. After I tightened the collet, the pin would stick in the primer so hard that it would reseat itself on extraction of the case. I happened to have a Lee die, which has a larger guage deprimer pin. It pushed them out just fine. I figure the crimp in the military primer pocket is so strong, that the small diameter RCBS deprimer pin pokes through the primer anvil, and either pull the pin out or reseats the primer. If this is the same problem as yours', you may need to get a Lee universal depriming die. No matter what, you'll need a primer pocket swager, or reamer, to get rid of that crimp. KD

jasonburnsdundee, is this a new problem you are having specifically with range picked up brass or what? Have you used that 223 sizer/deprimer before without problems?

Where is the die getting stuck on the way out? ie. is the deprimer still poking through? Or is it the inside sizer ball that is getting stuck on the neck of the brass? Does it get stuck if you remove the deprimer pin and just size?

This is a new problem new dies. Unknown brass. I never had a problem with my decapper pin getting stock in 308 or 7.62 X 39. The pin is getting stuck when it has backed out about 1 centimetre. The pin would normally extend past the flash hold quite a bit to knock the primer out. It is not getting stuck at the bottom of the range but a little bit on the withdrawal. As to diluting the case lubricant with water. Lee Manual says it is ok. This is the first time I've loaded 223 but it worked for a ton of 7.62.

I have to admit that I had something similar with 5.56 mil brass and after sorting it once I got it all uniformed and prepped by a precision shooting mate, end of problems! After that I use American Eagle which is good stuff.
I also have to admit that I have never put water in a case, I dont use LEE dies anymore either, RCBS in a Redding Boss!
