223 to 223 Wylde - any issues?

long story short....
i wanted a bolt action 5.56, i picked up a 223 and am looking to have it reamed out to 223 Wylde so i can shoot both.

my question is - or better said my dad asked me last night if there are any issues i should be worried about by doing this.
rational being the 5.56 is higher rated for pressures.... like 20% i think?
so if you have a 223 rifle and have it reamed out to a 223 Wylde that still wont help you with the pressure issue, no?
or is that something that we dont really need to be concerned with??

opps, think i found my own answer!

The cartridges are loaded to different pressure levels (with the 5.56 being greater), however.[5] (The NATO dimensions offset the higher pressure with a longer throat - often confusing some to think the cartridge itself is longer). This chamber allows the use of both pressure levels safely while also increasing accuracy potential across the range of potential pressures.

12% more PSI with 5.56 NATO ammo than 223 Rem, as per SAAMI specs (55k psi vs 62k). The longer throat of the 5.56 will reduce projectile start pressure

I'm a bit confused by this .223 Wylde chamber. why does it exist when the 5.56 NATO does what it does? let's you shoot both .223 and 556 NATO?

well, perhaps not so confused, as there is a comment about the Wylde maintaining accuracy for both. is it that huge of a difference between the Wylde and NATO chamberings?

My understanding is Wylde gives you the best of both worlds: .223 accuracy with 5.56 range/penetration. Main reason my AR's are chambered in 5.56 was I haven't found anybody who offers a Wylde with 1:7 twist, and especially not in a Crane-spec Mk 18 barrel. Admittedly, I am relatively new to the AR game...

I believe it was Ganderite that brought in some BT112 Savage Palma match rifle years ago that had Wylde chambers in them - i hae one, and iot is a very accurate little rifle, but the twist is set up for the 69 grain Sierra bullet, 1:9 IIRC
