I have a Savage BTCSS 223 with the 1:9 and I've had good luck with 40 gr both Hornady and Nosler with 23.5 gr reloader 10x or 27.2 gr varget. Both seem to get good results. 5 inside a dime at 100yrds. I've also had decent luck with 55 gr blitzkings. I haven't really tried the heavier stuff yet.

I to have 2 savages with a 1 in 9 twist and they both handle bullet weights from 40 to 75 grs very well I do reload and some load development was needed but every weight was always promising savage has a good barrel and I think this proves it
