I was thinking about trying the varmint ballistic tip's for the 223 I was woundering if they would be good for groundhogs or not, right now I am using 60 grain v max They seem to work good. I really have not heard much about the varmint ballistic tip. Thank's for the response.:)

They are good varmint bullets, usually one of the more accurate ones from my experience. You wouldn't likely find any performance difference between the v-max bullets and the ballistic tips on game, but one might shoot better than the other in your own rifle.

I use 55gr Nosler BT in 223 with Varget 3400 fps all most as accurate as 69gr Sierra's at 300y. very effective on game.

55 gr Nosler BT over 25.6 grs Benchmark was my favorite 223 load. Worked well on coyotes, and shot a wolf too. Probably not quite as explosive as the Vmax. I got 3250 fps from a 22" 1:12 barrel

Nosler 55's have been very consistant for me in the 223.

So far, 25.0 grains of H335 has worked well.
Yet to play with Benchmark and W748, but will be doing so in the near future.
