.223 Varminter Barrel Length?

So I have the barrel off my Savage .223 to do some work on it and was considering shortening the 24" barrel to 20".

This is a medium range, high volume varminter so max velocity is not an issue. I figure the shorter tube will be a bit stiffer and lighter so should actually help with accuracy and portability.

Anyone using a 20" barrel on a .223?

You will lose about 1/2 lbs or less by cutting the barrel to 20 inch.

Not using one, but I can tell you it will make no difference to accuracy and minimal difference to velocity, so fill your boots
