Im just wondering If anyone could give me details on how much loader a 243 is then a 223 in a bold action rifle , If any.......
I really want a detachable mag and i see that its only offered in 243 models of savages and remingtons.....

They are universally considered "short action", and unless purpose built, the barrel will average 22" long. Calibre and bolt face aside, you will be hard pressed to find any difference in the footprint for each rifle.

Note: In some provinces, .243 is both a recommended and legislated "minimum"calibre for big game. The .223 is more of a choice for varminting and Taliban:canadaFlag:

yes the .243 is usually significantly louder. i guess it depends on ammo and barrel length however. i have a 26" heavy barreled .223 and the shots just sound like pops and pffts through my earplugs or Peltors. my friend's 20" .243 is a significant boom.

about the detachable mag - its a highly overrated feature. a hinged floorplate rifle is faster to load unless you carry around a half dozen mags strapped to yourself like a mall ninja :)
remember not only can you dump the shells OUT of a hinged floorplate, you can also dump them IN the floorplate and just slam it shut and your rifle is loaded (shells facing the right way of course, heh).

Noise wise? Compare an open header big block to a honda civic. My 243 A bolt is extremely loud, and in a " no hearing protection" hunting situation, I'd prefer a 338,300 win mag or my ported 45-70 guide gun on the ears. (Trust me, I've done it with a bunch of different calibers. its hard to put in hearing protection when a deer is running through the woods by you:))
For vermin, of my 222, 22-250, and 243, the 243 win is by far the loudest. Powder and bullet weight doesnt seem to make much of a difference either.
the 222, and 223 are much quieter for pest hunting in populated rural areas.
The 243 carries a bunch more thump downrange than the 223, and is a pretty good fill in for a deer gun. the 223, not as much, but possible.

The 223 is much cheaper to shoot but both have a tonne of factory ammo avaliable.

As for mag systems, the browning system gives you the best of both worlds. Both my 22-250 and my 243 are Abolts.
