I have a Rem Model 7 rebarreled with a 22" stainless Krieger barrel by SC Gunworks in Markham. It shoots like a dream with factory ammo (1/2" @ 100), but I have no chrono so can't tell the velocity. From what I've been able to find out, factory ammo is pretty hot, and my meager handloading skills can't even match factory groups, much less better them, so I just use the storebought stuff. The barrel is not a heavyweight and heats up quickly.
I also don't use the gun nearly as much as I thought that I would because the barrel life issue is really playing mindgames with me, so I find myself counting my shots verrrry carefully. It is also LOUD. Not loud, LOUD.
In hindsight, I should have stuck with a .223 or .22-250. I have no experience with the Swift, but the .22-250 in particular serves all my coyote hunting needs. The WSSM was just a cool new toy...and that's a plenty good enough reason.
