As long as were talking .223s. What do you consider the best all around bullet in fast twist barrels such as the Tikka's. I have run into some COAL problems with the longer pointed bullets in that they are to long to cycle thru the mag, when COAL is adjusted to seat close to the lands. Perhaps something like the heavier Sierra's which seem to have a shorter snout? but how much downrange performance will I loose with them.

Ideas?

69 or 77grn Sierras, 70grn Bergers, 75grn Amax, Hornady 68grn HPBT, 69grn Lapuas (Possibly 77grn will stabilize in 1:9 twist)

Take your pick, they should all preform nicely.

If you are shooting from a magazine the forget about trying to get the bullets to the lands. The only way you will reach the lands would be to single feed the rounds.

Load for you mag length regardless of book stated OAL.

in my Cz-527 1-9 twist, I can go up to 69g SMK or Lapua no problem. the 75g A-max not that great.....

and I can go down to 40g Nosler still accurate, it's my coyote load.

if the cartridge is too long for the mag!!!!!!! it's not a big deal at the range.......the longer the bullet is the higher the B.C. is!!!!!!!

I also use the gun for Yotes or Wolves so cycling thru the mag is essential.
How about Speers, again another bullet with shorter snouts.
I have a few in 70gn weights.
I wish I could get to my range.

I was using 55gr Winchester carts in my mini 14, no accuracy at all. Started loading with Nosler Custom Comp 69gr HPBT and have way better results. Now I am fine tuning my load powder combo for better accuracy.
