223wssm

when i started this tread, could have bought a model 70 in 223wssm almost new for $650, i have since bought a savage axis xp in 223, up grade the scope to bushnell trophy and came with 200 rounds of federal 55hp sierra gamekings for $500, no matter what i fed it everything goes in a 2" hole at 200yds

Now thats a pretty big hole in a coyote.
Sounds like you made the right choice.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with similar results.
Not pretty or smooth as silk. But just like a K car, it just works. Works within a budget quite well.

This is good advise from 'PaperSlayer'....do some research and comparisons and you'll find the ballistics on the 20's are amazing.
I'm running a Tac20, and it beats out the 223 AI as far as reach, drop, etc. And it won't ruin the hide. Other benefits for the hunter are less noise and ricochet risk...kinda has the best of everything.
The WSSM's are great and no harder on barrels than a 220 swift or 22-250AI, but burn a lot of powder for what it needs to do.
