I misplaced the front sight on my 2240, decided to make one up. Hate the plastic parts anyways.

So the replacement is made from steel tubing Now all I need is the front sight height, then i will sight it in at the range some day.

You are going to need a dial or digital calipers probably.

I think it's a concentric plastic ring type of dealio with a press fit on the flat part on the top front of the barrel.

So the plastic 'ring' part of the sight, I need the outside diameter of that, and I need the height from the bottom of the ring to the tip of the front sight.

Thanks Tony

Edit: or to simplify things, just the height from the top of the sight blade to top dead center of the barrel.

I might have a spare entire barrel with sight on it. I will look around for it. If I find it, you can have it for the cost of shipping.

I got .400 " from the O.D. of the barrel to the tip the sight blade .Need any other parts I have a ported and lead lapped original length barrel and assorted valve and hammer springs an extended probe a complete new brass valve assembly and a set of walnut grips extra

^Thanks but no. :) Beautiful grips btw. I made a ring from steel tubing that fit nicely on the barrel od, then brazed a bit of steel plate to hold the front sight post better. Then I tapped a 4X40 hole for a corresponding screw. When I torqued it down it broke at the braze - I guess there was not enough heat from my MAPP torch to get a good bond. I am going to try again. The pistol has a 1399 stock, what I am aiming for is a pistol that has such an ugly front sight, nobody will want to buy it, so the gun will stick around longer. :p

I also have two Crossman 2240 barrel bands on & a trigger shoe. Otherwise she is plain jane.

I got the front sight version 2.0 made. This time I secured the tubing in a drill press vise and bored the seamed plain steel tubing out to .416". It was not exactly bang on but who cares.

Brazed on the adjunct on top (just to give some more meat for the front sight to hang onto.

filed that nice and flat & bored her out for the front sight pin.

soft soldered that on, it's nice and secure.

slipped the assembly on & it's nice & secure - probably won't require a grub screw.

It looks like hell but who cares.
