All P226s have milled frames and slides (older guns had folded slides but that was a long time ago). There are two basic types of P226: regular and all-stainless. The stainless version has stainless slide and frame, and the metal surface is unfinished ("in the white"). The regular model has a stainless slide and an anodized aluminum alloy frame. It comes in several versions: all-black (Nitron finish on the slide), two-tone (unfinished or, in the case of older guns, nickel plated slide) and Equinox (same as all-black but with some polished flat surfaces on the slide and wooden grips). There is also the limited edition Blackwater, which is the same gun as the all-black save for fancy grips and nitesights.TightGroup said:Ok,
I am not a Sig owner yet, but was interested in a P226.
Now I am completely confused as what is what anymore.
I was looking for the P226 that has the frame milled out of a single piece. Cannot find that model anymore .. They all look very nice, but there are so many options and models that it is almost impossible to compare them.
It would really be nice to see them side by side, where you can handle and compare them.
On the net they all look great, ... but its alot of $$$$ for a purchase when you cannot get to hold it first.
Its not like I get a 10 day return policy..
