Does anyone know when the smith and wesson 22a started production? I can't seem to find this on the internet

The 22A was the successor to the 422/622/2206 line of models. Those ended production in 1996 according to someone that wrote up a Wikipedia page on them. So the 22a would have appeared within a year or so of 96 I suspect. I don't know the actual dates so there may have been some overlap. But if you figure on the mid 90's you won't be far wrong.
