22br

Sierra says 2820 with a couple powders. That's a 24" barrel listed on their data. I'd expect a bit more than listed though. I'm going to stay in the 80 grain range with mine. There is a great 22 BR thread on snipers hide with alot of great information

Went looking at the MDT mags for these guys. Seems like they only make a 10 and 12 round mags. Anyone one else make like a 5 rounder mag?
 
Hey guys. I was just reading about the 22br over at snipers hide again and I thought I read that guys were getting jacket failures running a 7tw and like the 88ELDs, but now I not finding it. Not done yet though.

What were you guys running?
 
22 Creedmoor is sending them faster with a lot more powder. If they can do it, surely a 22BR has more safety margin on the bullet explosion front.

FPS + twist rate = RPM. Push it faster and is spins faster.

220 Swift, 22 Middlestead etc etc etc all push 224 bullets to hellacious speeds, way above what a 22 BR could achieve and they don't explode bullets. The 22BR with 80gr bullets has no chance of overspinning a bullet, unless the thing had like 1:2 twist rate or something silly.

I have had bullets come apart in my 22-243 Middlestead, 22-250 AI, and 224 Clarke. The trick was avoid lighter bullets in them. - dan
 
MV x (12/twist rate in inches) x 60 = Bullet RPM

This is one of the formulas for calculating bullet rpm. Heard hornady's issue was more caused by thin jackets.
