Yep, K-hornet is the way to go if you reload. You can still shoot regular hornet ammo in it (not all that great).
Be cautious with the Ruger 77/22 Hornet. SOME of them have poor accuracy, mainly because the bolts have excessive headspace. The bolts lockup from the rear unlike most centerfire cartridges that lockup at the front. I am just going to start playing and shimming mine to get it shooting better.
Would I get rid of a 22 Hornet? Nope, never. Been eying one of the Cooper Rifles in 22 K-Hornet.
If you reload for the Hornet, polish the inside of your full length resizing dies with Flitz or JB on a bore mop in a cordless drill. It will help make reloading smoother and prevent crumpling the thin cases.
