22lr 100yards open sights

on one of my cz 452's i have the erick brook peep sight and have hit the metal gong out to 200m 2-3 rounds out of 10 which isnt to bad my other cz 452 has a brno peep sight but probably wouldnt work well past 50m but the erick brook peep sight allows you to use the mauser type reciever sight and set it to 200m

Heck, that mauser set-up/brno sounds nice JC!
I have somewhere (!?!) a missing bolt for my recently unused ES 350B .22 LR Mauser.
The BSA Martini takes up any slack in the meanwhile.

Tony, I am not sure if my old Weaver T-10 Microtrac, has enough come-ups for 200 yard .22 LR target shooting.
I know for a fact the the Lyman All American Benchrest does not.....
Shoot to an aiming point!:)
Al,l you have to do is get thee scope as high as possible without topping out, and put a long of backwards targets so it is easy to see the bullet strike on the white paper. .
put an aiming point at the top, and see where the bullet strikes.
Put your target there!:)

I practise with my Walther standard class match rifle at the 200m chicken - cake walk if it isn't windy!

I'm thinking something with a mil-dot reticle or something like that. . .

My BSA Martini can do 1" sometimes, with peep sights and Lapua or Eley ammo, it doesn't like the RWS R-50 for some reason. My BSA Martini Int'l. has a Unertl scope on it and it can go under that with the proper ammo, neither rifle will do near 1" at 100 with cheapo ammo.

well the gong iam shooting at is only about 4inches in diameter and with very simple iron sights and wind is always a factor a garbage can or even a paint can at 200m would be very easy
A chicken silhouette is approximately. 2moa in the center, so it is quite a bit bigger than 4" overall, but it can be done offhand without too much problem.

Hi Tony haven't seen you at the range in a wile.I got my self a new CZ 452 std its a real shooter I was hitting clay pigeons at 200 yds with it today .Its the most accurate 22 I have ever shot.we will have to try to get together for some long range shooting.:D

Yes its has the adjustable iron sights. 25 to 200 m I do well with it considering my poor eye sight .it will be my indoor range gun this winter.the range is all ready to go from what I hear.will be open in sept I think.25m silhouettes in doors would be alot of fun.

Sorry guys I forgot about this thread, to clarify, that is not my clip or rifle, it's just something I espied on youtube (although he is a Canadian user), maybe he's a cgn member? - I cannot tell a lie! :D

I was digging around that site a while ago.

Wow. Lots of great info there.

I was particularly impressed with the Skirmisher discipline. Some pretty awesome rapid fire, with a singleshot Martini action.

Cheers

I shot my Ural CM2 target rifle at 100 yards today. Annual shoot is coming up in our club and it is basically 3-position course shot at 100 yards. I tried Eley, Lapua Standard Plus and Fiocchi. All ammo brands shot practically the same, under 1.5" with occasional flier. I shot total 6 10-shot groups and they were all withing 1.5" and two fliers bringing two groups close to 2". I'd say it is very similar performance to my scoped-accutriggered-heavybarreled Savage MkII. Shooting was done off the bench without rear suppport.

I remember there was a hot discussion not too long ago about peeps vs scope accuracy. I maintain that proper target peep sights are every bit as accurate as scope. In fact, I think cheaper scopes will never be as accurate as peep sights due to its inherent image distortion and parallax error.
