Been using stingers and velocitiors for years , now starting to run out of them. Wondering what's a hard hitting 22lr round you use nowadays.?

What is the heaviest hardest hitting 22lr round out now a days?
 
I’ve had the best success getting “bang-flops” using any standard velocity lead round nose. My experience making the same hits (almost always head shots) on squirrels with stingers/velocitors/equivalents has been that that they flop around quite a bit and make a mess despite having their brain matter expelled with great force. Give target ammo a try!

+1 for CCI Mini Mag HP. i find them consistently accurate out of a Tikka whereas the Stingers are less so. If you go to CCI’s website you can compare drop, velocity and energy between the two.
 
You could try some of Norma's Eco Speed @ 1706 fps.

Or Aquila Interceptor @ 1470 fps.

I purchased these recently so you may find stock.

I really liked Rem Cyclones but I have not seen them for sale for a long time.

What are you talking about?

Doesn't need to be hollow point to hunt small game (including coyotes, bobcat, lynx and wolverine), or upland game birds (grouse, ptarmigan or turkey) with a rimfire in BC.

Show me in the synopsis where it even comments about the bullet type or size for rimfire.

I personally would not recommend yellow jackets. They were all the rage back in the 1980s when we hunted racoon. because they were light they had a tendency not to penetrate the skull, but skate along the bone under the hide before exiting and pissing off the coon. I went right back to plain, old Aguilla 40 gr round nose. If you can't use round nose find the heaviest hollow point you can., that will get the job done.
 
Cool this is awesome thanks yall! I found some cool rounds while checking out the Google. Some federal punch I'm going to add to rhe list. The fun with 22lr you can buy alot of ammo and test them out
 
40gr cci mini mag segmented hollow point

For accuracy try cci standard vel or federal auto match

Light bullets I'd avoid unless my barrel has a slow twist rate and doesn't like 40gr

I have used standard round nose .22 short, long, and lr for years on Prairie Chicken and Ruffed Grouse. I definitely don’t use hollow points.

It's under legal hunting methods but I miss remembered it. It says full metal jacket non expanding is illegal. So a soft point round nose lead is ok, as it's not fmj and will expand, I assume.

Thanks for making me dig back into that and verify.
