I notice that there are a number of complete .22 LRs ARs coming in this year and last year.

To wit (getting the pricing from Badger except for the Walther which was from Frontier):

S&W M&P 15-22 ($520)
Walther M4 ($800)
Colt M4 Carbine 22 ($675)
Colt M4 Carbine 22 CQB ($780)
Chiappa M4 ($420)

I assume the Chiappa M4 uses the same upper as the Chiappa .22 conversion kit, so it should fit an AR15 lower. Does anyone know if the others fit as well? Are the mags compatible across platforms?

I noticed the S&W mag issue, being pinned 10/25 rounders. Badger's blurb on the Colt cites a 30 round magazine, and a 28 rounder for the Chiappa conversion kit. Chemist from SFRC mentions the mags are 10/28s and that the stock on the rifle is fixed.

Will these uppers and lowers interchange? Are the magazines compatible? Does having more than one rimfire AR make you some kind of deviant?

I'm wondering which AR .22 kit is best bang for the buck between the S&W M&P 15-22 for $439 or the Chiappa for $420 quality & function is important to me.

will they work on my regular AR15 receiver if I swap the lower?

as for the mag issue chanman the Chiappa needs to be pinned as the RCMP classed it to be 10 rounds now. i.e. 10/28 this sucks.

Yes, you are a deviant but that doesn't matter. We all are in our own way.
The mag thing, S&W, Colt are interchangeable because of the bite out of the back spine. The CMMG, Black Dog, Chiappa are interchangeable because they resemble the original mags. The Chiappa fits the AR lowers but I can't swear to any others because as far as I know they don't offer them in upper kits. The Colt is an entirely different firearm and was designed not be compatable with it's major caliber brothers. I think if you don't wat just the slip in kit then you might have to get the Chiappa.
At this point out here in B.C. we have received paperwork from the CFO that all these knockoff mags need to be blocked. Don't fret, it's just how it is.
