22LR Bolt Action Recommendations For Precision Rimfire

Correct, mv is meaningless if you can’t hit anything, op states he would like to do prs with the gun. Most of the guys would be running 18 or 20 inch, which ever balances well with the given platform, we can say what we have and why but as usual it comes down to what he is comfortable with. Prs is scoped so anything over 20 is pointless to me. My 16 inch balances well with the wood stock but put that action in a chassis and it would be just goofy.
Best advice buy what you like and deal with it from there. If you make it to a shoot try everything you can and ask lots of questions. I went with a savage and learned what I could, tried everything and had fun. With the mark 2 even if you hate it you won’t lose, sell it 3 weeks later and 4K rounds down the tube won’t matter. Far better off than a ruger. You can buy an mdt kitted out for what 550, base savage is 250 ish and you are less than a ruger with a gun that can shoot and an actual metal chassis

Each system, bolt or semi, has pros and cons. I did the factory bolt as far as I can go until new parts arrive. It was very competitive but tech moves on. so why not see what my old 10/22 can do?

Was able to resolve some issues that bug me and the performance has been plenty good to compete with all other popular option. Will run the 10/22 for the rest of the year. Then more testing in the fall to see if I can improve LR performance even more with a bolt (goal is 500m).... and then we see what next season brings.

For today, this 10/22 set up is working as hoped.... but there is always more to learn and improve on... Tech rarely ever stands still for more then a season.
