Looking to scope a Savage FVSR 22lr bolt gun.
This is a small short heavy barrel (16in) tactical style rifle.

I will be plinkin, informal target shooting/sniping, pest control etc with it.

I want to preserve the rifle's compact feel but looking to enable the superb accuracy the rifle is capable of.
Also not looking to spend a ton on this project which is one of the reasons I chose this rifle.

So far considering Redfield Tac22 2x7, Bushnell 2x7 22lr BDC reticle.
This level of magnification and size is what I'm looking at. Don't want a straight 4x or anything ridiculously cheap.

I like the idea of the Bushnell's BDC designed for the 22lr for longer range plinkin without turret twistin.
The Redfields 22lr turret drop comp dial is interesting too.

Any ideas on others or experiences with these??

I have a Norinco 22LR. backpacker with a 12-13" barrel and 4x Leupold rimfire compact scope on it that looks really comfy on it. Something like that or I think I might be inclined to a Bushnell RedDot on it for a really compact look.

I like the Leupold rimfire scopes. VX1 2-7x28 with the fine duplex reticle or even the older VXll 2-7x28 would serve you well as a good all-around plinking/hunting scope with an excellent FOV at 2x.

I have a bushnell 3-9x32 rimfire scope, and the quality is well above any other rimfire scopes i have used so far. I wouldn't hesitate on the bushnell.

I haven't used a redfield .22 scope, but based on the quality of their other rifle scopes i doubt i would regret going with their .22 scope either.
