:ar15:I know it is prohibited to build a bullpup configured firearm from an existing firearm, BUT here it is??? if someone was to build say reciever/stock/foregrip (one piece) bullpup style to accept 10/22 barrel-bolt-and trigger housing would or could it be legal??? keeping with the 26" overall for rimfire, if it had a 20" barrel the reciever/stock would only have to be 1 1/2" longer rearward of the existing 10/22 reciever length, any input from those that KNOW would be greatly appreciated! I just have to poke it!:nest:

Any aftermarket (built or bought) bullpup stock is illegal. The only way bullpup stocks are LEGAL, is if they are built as an integral part of the gun, whereby the gun can not be fired outside of the stock.

A 10/22 CAN be fired without a stock, therefore, any bullpup stock for it is illegal.

If you're just keeping the bolt/barrel/trigger housing, and NOT the receiver, you're manufacturing a firearm (receiver) which has it's own issues.

Get over it - you can't/won't be able to own a bullpup 10/22.

He's not talking about converting a 10/22 into a bullpup configuration. He's talking about making a new firearm that has several major parts in common with the 10/22, but does not use the 10/22 receiver (and is therefore not a 10/22).

its really easy to register a homemade firearm. usually takes about a month to create the FRT, and if its not too much of a strech, usually having a verifier look it over will suffice, otherwise, the feds will want to borrow it for a little while.

I might have to do this with my walther G22

my friends have come to the realization that hell freezes over quite regularly!!

I can agree with that, My safe has a number of guns in it that I never thought I would own in my lifetime. Funny how those things work...

Keep us informed on your progress, a bullpup .22 semi with big mags would be a lot of fun, even if it is based on the 10/22 bits.;)

Just when I thought canadian gun laws could not get any more ridiculous, now they say that if you can take the action out of the stock - thereby making it completely innacurate and utterly useless, and, in fact the very same action that you could take out of any 10/22 (if for some crazy reason you wanted to..) - then it should be prohibited based on that fact....who pays these idiots salaries???

sad thing is we all do when we pay taxes. instead of filling potholes and more hospital beds, we get belt-fed stupidity.
