has anyone tried using the .22 shotshells for grouse hunting?

Don't! haha!
Check the pattern on it with some paper, if you're close enough to use that stuff on your grouse, grab it and choke it out. Also, it doesn't feed very well in semis

You need to be less then 7 yards. I use it for shooting rats in the barn because it doesn't hurt tires. Its #12 shot. Pretty light stuff. Rifled barrels shoot the cci blue tip stuff in decent patterns. A smooth bore shoots them great. For the range that they would kill a grouse catch it or use a stick
