.22LR Dynopoints are Back!!!

I was in Winnipeg last week and looked in 2 Walmarts but didn't see them. Woulda bought a few thousand rounds.

My Beretta 89 pistol loves them. They agree with my Krinker Plinker too.

guns

I have 4 hot rodded 10/22's, a Brno model 5, CZ Varmint and American, Ruger 77/22, Ruger 96/22, Brno 568, CIL Model 125, and a Cooey semi. All with the exception of the Cooey are capable of and have shot groups as low as 3/8" at 50, but none will get even close to that figure with Dynapoints. They just don't do it for me. I have not seen them in Central Alberta anywhere. Later.

Skeet I have 2 BRNO 2 E's, Win 69A, Sav MarkII, Win 490, 2 Rem Nylon 66 and a Marlin 39, none of which group Dynapoints worth a darn. And I stocked up heavily on these things as there was a post on Rimfire Central that talked about how well this ammo shot in quite a variety of different rifles. I have even gone so far as to Paco Tool a number of them to see if that would make things better.
Looks like it will have to be fodder for the kids to shoot.A prime example that you can't believe everything you read. FS

Dynapoints have done okay for me out of my CZ Varmint at 50 yards with some flyers (quarter sized groups) wheras my 10/22 doesn't do as well. They're okay with my .22lr handguns. Good enough for practice, plinking or some varminting but they wouldn't be my 'go to' ammo if I were competing. With that said, the Wally World by my place had some and I bought 4 boxes...

Have had mixed experience with these, and in my mind the hype outperforms the product. Have noted that several threads mentioned that the CZ452 shot them well. Well guys, I have three of these, all different, and IMHO you could get a darn fine group shooting little pebbles stuck in the end of a rimfire case out of any of them. Having ammo shoot well out of a CZ says zip for the ammo, unless you are getting really, really fussy.

I've shot many 1000's rds of Dynapoint, no problems except the odd dud when fired from the 10/22... Will be buying some more when I come across it.

Does it shoot better the Eley Match? Of course not... But then again, they are $15/500 instead of $15/50.

Just for fun, I'll have to try a side by side comparaison at the 50Y indoor range.

I haven't seen any "hype". It seems .22's are notoriously fickle, and if it doesn't shoot well in your rifle, it might shoot great in another. But overall, its decent, cheap ammo, a heckuva lot better than a lot of the other "bulk" .22 ammo, in my experience.

^What he said.

Of the cheap .22 ammo brands, Dynapoints shoot the best out of my rifle, and a lot better than some others. Your mileage may vary. Only one way to find out though, and Sunny season is on the way. :shotgun:

Walter, you get the free tip. There are probably ten or more bricks at the Wal-Mart on Kelsey Drive. Run, run like the wind. ;)

just grabbed a brick from wally, I've never used them before as I tend to use CCI for all my rimfire stuff. I'll post here after I give them a go in the BL-22 and the Remington 12A.

Apparently about 1,156 fps from a Ruger 10/22.

I put a hundred or so over my chronograph last summer. They averaged 1080 fps out of a 21" barrelled Savage MK II

Our Wal-Mart has them again, but I'm not going to buy any. I stocked up a couple of years ago when I heard the rumor of them disappearing and still have 12,500 left.

They shoot very well out of my Savage, not too bad out of my Anschutz semi-auto, and are good enough for the wife to plink around with out of my Henry lever-action.

I have never shot the Dynapoints out of my Remington 541's, nor my Finnfire, since I shoot only unplated target ammo in these high end rifles, but they shoot very well in both my 581 and 581S, also several Mossbergs like them fine. I have two Mossberg 146(b) 22's, which shoot awesome with this ammo. The only rifle I have that is indifferent to Dynapoints is an old M69 Winchester, which shoots some other inexpensive ammo a lot better. I laid in a couple of cases before it disappeared, and will work my way through that before getting worried about supply. Regards, Eagleye.

$15.47 at the Wallyworld here. I still have several bricks on hand but just bought 2 more anyway. My CZ511 seems to like them. I fired a few hundreds rounds of dynapoints through it without a single malfunction, and it seems like the accuracy level is pretty fair though I'll have to look into that more when I scope the gun.

just my .02 but the old dynapoints were ok in most of my 22, but for gophers I want something that kill better. Hyper HP is the way to go.They may cost an extra $5 a brick but a clean kill is worth it.

Was at Wal-Mart today and noticed they had .22LR Dinopoints in stock agian :dancingbanana: for $15.47 /500 (didn't they used to be ~$13? :()

Paid $35 after tax for 2 packs (3.5 cents a pop) :)

They used to be $13.57. I know that because they still had the old price on the shelf and I thought I was getting them for that but when I got home and looked at the receipt I realized otherwise.

I picked up a few bricks a while ago, they shoot pretty good in my Mark II BV. However I did notice A LOT of damaged rounds in the box. A lot had dents in the casings or they looked like someone put pliers on the bullet and squat or stretched the bullets way out to the sides etc.. I have to give every bullet a once over before I load it, some are really bad, you couldn't even load it if you tried. However like I said, they do produce some good groups so I still use them, choices of ammo are pretty limited here.
