22lr for wife

Would you pick shoes out for her? (and know she'll love 'em?) Take her to a few different shops to handle as many different gems as she can, and let her pick one out. You can share your experience n' guidance. Maybe get her to squeeze a few shots off from different folks' rifles (not every one at a range is into sharing, but I bet most would be amenable).

Too many gems available for there to be a "one size fits all". Let her pick it out, and you know she'll like it from the get-go (or you're off the hook for picking it anyway)

I bought my wife a Savage Mark II GY in 22lr. nice little rifle and she wants to do a custom camo job on the stock with leaves, twigs & flowers which will make it her own rifle.

I had my guns before I met my wife.
First up rules.

Where were we.........oh yes, Ruger American in a compact model,
CZ Scout would be a great choice.

desjardo..... I was going to say come to provost hardware and for $250 cash you can buy a savage mark ii fvxp with heavy barrel and Bushnell scope. Its my 9 year olds favorite.

So I found a decent deal on a savage fvsr.
My wife handled one at the range last summer and really liked how it felt.
Now to get her a decent scope.
May even get her a boyd stock as Im thinking this will be her baby.

The stock FVSR stocks are not very scope friendly and you may want to get her some kind of cheekpiece unless you are going to the Boyd's right away. You learn a lot of bad habits with an improper fit and that is a gun with an improper fit for a scope, way too low in the comb. I love my FVSR but I put it in a TR stock(Pro Varmint) right from the start. You can also lose a bit of scope height by replacing the rail with Weaver bases.
