.22LR Handgun Choices

GSG 1911 if you like 1911s. Beware GSG can be picky with ammo, seems to like higher speed like CCI mini and stinger.

FTF on every rnd of Eley which was 10 buck a box, too tight (Eley worked great on CZ 455)
the GSG is not that picky about ammo but if you notice it says right on the side of the gun .22LR HV
that means that the people who built it want you to only use a high velocity round in the gun and when you do it functions just as it should and as they designed it to with no problems at all

Besides it looking like a space gun why do so few like the Beretta Neos ?

i have a beretta neos and i absolutely love it. it's function is excellent (as for form, i have grown to like it). beretta knows what they're doing.

probably the most popular, reliable 22 handgun is that ruger series and some people have opinions on their look too (i have grown to love those too)

1. Your current budget/your future plans. If you plan to move to centerfire calibers some time down the road, you might want to get a .22LR pistol you can later convert to centerfire caliber, like SIG P226 (possibly P229, not sure if the centerfire x-change kits are available for P229 in Canada). It is more expensive to begin with, but then you're only spending like $400 to convert it to either of 9mm/.40S&W/.357SIG.

This^.

Even if you don't plan to move to centrefire, the Sig classics are excellent pistols. I had a US-made P226. It was on the never-sell list but then got bumped by a German P229.

the Neos was my first gun ever :) I enjoyed the look of it and found it shot pretty well. The only downside was I found the grip was too slim, it felt like my fingers were going to far around if that makes sense. I ended up giving it away to my brother and picked up a used single six that I am quite enjoying.

I have a Browning Buckmark Silhouette. Shoot and work out at the same time!

It eats everything I feed it (so far). The rail is nice, I've got an old Aimpoint on it. Shooting the gong at the 100 yd point is a hoot!:D

I have a Buckmark camper too. Love it. Spending more on assecories than the gun.. but that's the fun part. lol As for it "feeling like a big bore gun"... This gun feels better in the hand then most guns I've shot. Big, small.. whatever.

GSG 1911 if you're looking for a fun gun; it actually has recoil esp with hv 40gr bullets. Buckmark is great if you're more into bullseye/accuracy type shooting.

I like the look and feel of the old west , with a modern touch . So I purchased the ruger single six convertible in stainless 560.00 taxes in. It shoots lt shoots lr as well as mags. Lots of fun and cheap to shoot , also cleans up very easy.
