I was following the other 22lr heavy barrel thread and am wondering what people thought of the old mossberg rifles and any other older rifles in 22lr heavy barrel . I like the old stuff , might be a sign I'm getting old ?
nah, they definitely have their place. I think that most people who are worried about getting a heavy barrel over a normal in a rim fire plan on shooting a lot, or very accurately... IE why they go with modern rifles, the machining is a bit better.
I have a BRNO #4. Haven't had it out in a while. May be marked '56. A very accurate well made rifle (in my opinion). It is certainly a heavy rifle for a rimfire
I have 4- 144 Mossbergs and they all shoot very well. Also have a Brno #3 and #4 that are no slouches either. I think alot of people underestemate these old guns.

Only had the 146 series. I am just not a magazine type of guy. I like the tube mags. My 146ba shoots so good, I can only imagine if it had a heavy barrel on it!
