.22LR Hornady

Never seen or even heard of it. But I'm 99% sure it will be made by CCI, and probably a pretty good quality. Most of CCI's stuff shoots well in all my .22's.

I bought some a while back, and tried it in a couple of my 22s. Neither liked it (CZ/Anschutz) as much as even CCI Standard Velocity. Certainly nothing about them that would make them great varmint rounds. Bit of a let down for a product wearing the Hornady name, but I always sample the new stuff. :)

My local walmart stocks it. Its more money than im willing to pay. 6.99/50

These mythical Walmart and Canadian Tire stories I hear...lol I chuckle every time, I must live in the most Liberal, anti-gun part of southern Ontario. There isn't ANY Walmart in a 50 mile radius of me that carries anything gun related, and you can't even see what crappy selection of ammo the Canadian Tire stores have. Dimly lit, 2/3 empty, thick layer of dust, prices 20-30% higher than anywhere else.

When I was in Calgary last spring, I stopped in to see what ammo they had...if I recall, an amazing gun selection, think I even saw some Tavors! lol Where I live? You could get a Daisy BB gun...if your 10 minute search for an employee finds you a guy who knows where the key is!

Btw brybenn...I'm not doubting your story..just venting :)

My friend Bobc & I both purchased 5 50 round boxes of this at Wallyworld.
I see that it is no longer listed on Hornady's website.
Has anyone else used or had any luck with it.

Hey Sakoman~re-read what I posted about it above. It's nothing special. In fact, I was going through my ammo on the weekend and saw most of what I bought of the stuff...still sitting there. Clean ammo, looks CCI packaged (likely CCI made) but didn't shoot as well as even Standard Velocity CCI.

Thank you .22lrguy. I did read your post.
I was curious to read if any others in the community tried it.
It has been 3 months since this thread was started.
Due to the lack of responses in the thread, and the ammo no longer being listed on their website,
I am starting to believe it was not a hit. I will check the american forum.
Flush the TURD & Have a good one.

BullsEye also has Hornady Varmint Express, 22 Long Rifle 40 Grain, Copper Plated HP rated at 1160 fps. That's a good punch at the muzzle. But the price is not so great at $12.99/100.
Federal Value Pack HP is rated at 1260fps/36gr and much, much cheaper at Tenda. Actually, all my 22 pistols and rifles like Federal Value Pack.
