22lr inserts

never used them myself but general consensus is they work but obviously don't have the ranged accuracy of a 22 rifle. will aim fine closer and best of all shoot your shotgun for the price of a 22. rimfire

videos like this give a good idea.

Don't expect great result with adapters that cost less than the gun you're putting it in.
There's some very accurate options used in drillings that are adjustable but the ones you just slide in and out of the chamber's rarely give repeatable results. Think pie plate at 30 yards

That video would likely be less impressive but more informative if buddy shot a 10 round group at both distances and showed us the results.

The adapters are cheap enough to buy, try and hold on to "just in case" :)

If you index them consistently and have an adjustable sight that can be dialed in appropriately, they might be good enough for head shots on grouse out to 25 yards.

Do they make a 12g version?

Mine is minute of dinner plate at 10 yards out of my Outlaw.
Yeah thats about what I get. Scoring a hit at 30yds would be very difficult with mine, because its WAY OFF from where my rib/bead are pointing.

IMO they're not much more than a novelty. Maybe the more expensive ones are better, but the small ones you can get for like $30-50 are only worth buying if you go into expecting them to be virtually useless.
