How about different looking ;)

In the "not much money" category, I think these litle thing are kind of nice

Or if you do a little search, I think last week someone posted a few pictures of their Tangfolio 22lr, looked like a CZ75, but with a polymer frame...

I'd rather look at a Walther than a Glock, CZ or Beretta (90-two looks okay, though). All three of those look uninteresting. But I'd take a Sig or HK over a Walther any day... Except when it comes to .22. From shooting both, I had A LOT more trouble with the Mosquito than the P22.
Well, aesthetic preferences are highly personal and as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. Having said that, the P22 is a jam-o-matic from my experience. In addition, the pot metal slide does not last very long and is prone to cracking.

Even with extended barrels... I'd take the P22 over the Mosquito, and my P229 over any Glock or CZ. Glocks feel like plastic and the CZ feels "low end" compared to the Sig, plus the shape of the butt is just hard on the eyes.

Those .22 Kimber's have peaked my interest....

Really? Like plastic? I always thought they felt kind of like wood...

Hey also look on RimeFire Central. the'll have tips and tricks to make her run smother (more for the older models from what i hear).

More on the High Standard model Citation. This was my first one. I bought a Trophy model a few months ago for $350. Only one magazine though but came with target grips and a compensator. I like this gun more than my S&W model 41.

Bah that one is definately not what I'm looking for.

Anyways, P22 it is, thanks again everyone!

EDIT: Any tips on where to get a good deal on one new? Although I don't mind, perhaps even prefer, used.

Thanks,
Cheers,
Alex

Very interesting....I had a P22, never have any issue of FTF and FTE, but the screws keeping come loose, the slide has a tiny little bit metal chip off at the slide catch and make the slide cannot lock back. I know that the Mosquito has a lot of problem but I am not sure that P22 is a better gun.

There is a reason the Rugers, Brownings, & High Standards have been, and always will be popular-they are very accurate, and very reliable, well balanced and built to last, and they are affordable. Do alot of research before buying the P22 or the Mosquito, they have had alot of bugs in terms of reliability and durability. Other then the high-end .22's like the Kimber 1911's or the CZ Kadet, there aren't really any "Real Gun" looking 22's that perform well.
For the price of the P22 and Mosquito, you would be better off buying the centerfire version.....

This one ain't for me, and the person that wants it is determined on a .22, and a "centerfire looking one", well you know what I mean. Has to be a .22, for the fact that the ammo is incredibly cheap, and it is great to learn on, as a first pistol. I myself plan to get a Tok as a cheap plinker, but it will never be as cheap to feed as a .22 is.

Thus, P22 it is, still em curious of any retailers carrying them for a good price, or any leads on a used one.

Cheers,
Alex

Let him buy what he wants. There is no reason that he has to become a decent target shooter. Lots of people buy plinker class guns and after a while move on to something better or a different sport. Hey, its his decision!

Yeah but most of us hate to see the new guy on the firing line clearing jamb after jamb after jamb, ect ect ect.... its just not safe, and its discouraging to new shooters. Personaly I think the new shortest bbl ruger hunter with the fluted bbl is sweet looking. Though the standard stainless model is a nice gun. I have never had a jamb in my mk 2, ever!
