.22lr needs more punch

Part of your accuracy problems comes from the supersonic ammo and a light bullet. When the bullet goes supersonic it loses stability. So for long range it will destabilize at least twice in flight. Sure, a 22lr can go quite a long ways but hitting the broad side of the Skydome is iffy from those ranges too.

Correct. Almost. The bullet IS SUPERSONIC when it leaves the barrel. The destabilization happens when the bullet velocity drops below supersonic and the leading edge of the shockwave 'catches' the heel of the bullet at the transonic threshold to sub sonic
