22LR Pistol Recommendation Please !

Yeah the only thing I dont like is the plastic frame but I like the rest so I ordered that one :)

The victory has great reviews but I just love blued steel.

Thanks for the help!

Anyone has tried the Ruger Mark III Target vs the Mark IV 22/45 bull barrel ?

I can have either at same price but as you know the IV has the push button fast takedown and better trigger.. but then the target version is all metal unlike the 22/45 polymer frame.

Another thing I heard is people hate the loaded indicator on the Mark 3 but I think its not in the MarkIV now..

Input ?
The Mk III hands down!

I had a Sig 1911-22, until I bought a Mark IV 22/45 lite. The Ruger just fits my hand better. However, My favorite .22 pistol is my GP100-22...more accurate than the Mark IV with me at the trigger. But then, it’s costs nearly twice as much to buy...

Your "favorite .22 pistol" is actually not a pistol at all.....it's a revolver. ;)

Any more opinions on the GSG 1911- 22? I don't like the look of the space blasters that 22's normally take the form of.

I have one, as well as a Buckmark, a Model 41, several High Standards, an M&P-22 and a Colt Match Target. The GSG isn't as accurate as most of my 22s but it always shoots. I use standard velocity CCI and never have a problem. The early GSGs had a problem with peening the slide until it won't hold open. If you are getting a later model, that won't be a problem.

With the stupid c-71 I decided to get a 22LR since its cheap and have loads of it already, I like the Ruger Mark3, can you suggest me others?

Thanks!
New, I would vote for a Buckmark. It has a better trigger out of the box. If you want to tinker, the Ruger has more parts available. Right now, my favourite is my Colt...

I went with a S&W SW22 Victory.
Should be a great gun once it shows up.
Online reviews have been very positive.
Hard to beat for $400 BNIB to my door.
I'm still on the hunt for a .22 revolver and a threaded barrel Walther.

Well I can’t say how well they shoot yet as I’m still waiting on one and paperwork on the others.

I’m pretty new to pistols but have been rifles for years. I Bought my first two this past fall - G17 gen 5 and M&P40 2.0 - but I suck and need plenty of practice. But it’s not exactly cheap to shoot tons of centrefire so I looked into .22 pistols.

Ended up with the Sig Sauer (GSG) 1911-22 and Ruger SR22 which showed up on Monday.

Yup, the GSG is big and heavy. I actually have a hard time reaching the slide release. Should be a good shooter but the finish is pretty crappy. I have a feeling unless I baby it, it’s going to look like it’s been three tours of ‘Nam before long.

The SR22 is tiny, lol. Even with the longer slide and barrel to comply with our laws. I need the pinky grip mag plates and larger grip and it still feels tiny. I’m interested to shoot this as it is a true DA/SA. Would make a great backyard plunger if we were allowed.....

And I’m waiting on the Smith and Wesson SW22. Just the basic version. Nothing fancy. Seems to be a well built, reliable, accurate and easy to maintain pistol. At a great price, too. With all the buying going on as of late, I doubt I’ll get to shoot it for another two weeks, lol.

Anyways, waiting on the reg certs and then I’ll head off to the range to try this puppies out.

I hope you all enjoy your new guns!

Cheers,
EZTRGT

I am very happy with my 22/45 mark III. A lot of people prefer the mark iv due to ease of takedown. Although i can count on one hand how many times ive had it apart in four years on one hand. One of those times was to put in a target sear. Ive only had a couple jams one ejecting and getting caught while loading the next round. Also one time had trigger rest issues, grime likes to collect in the trigger. I would say i tear it down every 1000 rounds but dont shoot as much as i used to. I have had quite a few other pistols over the years and have stuck with the 22/45. Handling is much like the 1911.

If I'D be looking for a another 22lr pistol, I'd scoot over to Tradeex and pick one of his used Hammerli 208's

I just recently purchased my first 22lr pistol. After weeks of researching I went with the Browning Buck Mark Contour.

Just got my Certificate so will be hitting the range very soon, Ill keep you posted as to how it does.
