i think if i where looking for a entry level wheel gun id look at those Alpha Project guns.
i hear they are cheap but the price is at least palatable.

I have a S&W model 17-3 and a Herbert Schmidt 21, the Smith is three times the pistol for accuracy, fit, trigger and quality and double action to boot. My HS is a little different from the one pictured above in post #21 with adjustable sites and a hammer block safety that can be engaged when the rebounding hammer is down. As you #### the hammer, the hammer block is disengaged, so you can carry with all six loaded. The S&W chambers are so tight in the cylinder that it is a hard push to chamber some ammo. It readily takes Federal target, Remington thunderbolt and old IVI but is too tight for Win Dynapoint, Win 333 and some others.
If I was to keep just one I would have a HS 21 for sale on the EE.

Ya... the single six is really well made and I have found mine to be very accurate.....

I had a couple Herbert Schmidt .22s they're actually fun plinkers! Not a big fan of single action revolvers but enjoy them in a .22

I was very pleasantly surprised at how good my .22 Webley is

That looks exactly like mine, but mine has wood grips, no Webley logo.

Well... maybe not quite exactly, front sight is slightly different. Not full length and hooked back like yours.

Does yours have an adjustable rear sight? My rear sight is adjustable for LR only (I think?).

The rear sight is a leaf type with a screw in the top (visible in photo) that allows adjustment for elevation. There are also screws on either side that allow the rear sight blade to be moved L-R. Mine is marked "MK IV .22 LONG RIFLE" on the left side if the top strap. From what I've read Webley made about 75,000 of these from the late 40's up to the 80's but a large number were destroyed when handguns were banned in the UK. I believe they were widely used as "club guns" in the UK. Mine is a low number and I've been given to understand it's probably from around 1949-50. I also have a 1916 MK VI in .455 and they make a nice pair.;)

According to my 2015 Standard Catalog the values for the .22 MK IV target ranged from $300 for poor up to 1450 for excellent in the US at the time of publication.

OK, now I see your rear sight. Mine is simple affair on top of the bbl catch just like an issued 38 or 455, but adjustable via a retaining screw for LR.

I read some where that these are actually worth more than the adjustable sight ones? Don't know if that is really true or not.
Mine is also low SN.

So far a keeper and not a seller.

I was pleasantly surprised by my Alfa. It's inexpensive, but nicely made.

The S&W chambers are so tight in the cylinder that it is a hard push to chamber some ammo. It readily takes Federal target, Remington thunderbolt and old IVI but is too tight for Win Dynapoint, Win 333 and some others.

Same with the Alfa. I have all this M22 that I'll have to burn in the GSG, it eats anything.

I'll throw this into the mix.....

High Standard Sentinel Deluxe.
Was my first 22 revolver, and man it shot well in single action. Sadly, it was on it's last legs wear wise. My son has it now, but is forbidden to sell it without my permission. Minty Sentinels do show up on the EE once in a while and I am always tempted.

The one 22 revolver that I acquired, that I really didn't like was a Llama Comanche. Man... I swear that thing was a N frame.

Had a SP101. Shot great after a main spring change, but not as interesting as my 17, 617, H&R 999, and Webley.
