I'm look for a decent scope for a .22lr around the 200-300$ range. I want to be able to see gophers fairly well out to 150yrs. I have a fixed 4x on my current .22 and am looking more for range for the next rig. Advice, input, experience please?

I have a Leupold 3-9x33 AO on one of my rifles, a Burris of the same spec on another, but for value for money take a look at the Simmons of the same spec. It is under $100 and very good too. I tend to turn it up to 9 power and leave it there then use the AO (parallax) to fine tune it. Works well for me.

Nikon Prohunter 2-7x32. Well under $200, fantastic scope for rimfire applications. I have this scope on two of my dedicated rimfire gopher rifles and i love them.

I like lots of magnification on my gopher guns. My 64b and my 'rinco mount 6x-24x's and my .221 has a 10x-40x
Go on over to futong . com and for less than $200 (before taxes), I'm sure you'll see something you like.
Personally, I think the 6x-24x range is about ideal for a .22 . Unless you are planning on shooting running gophers, 6x isn't too powerful, and when you dial it up to 24x, you can see the beady eye peering at you through the grass.
