hey guys just bought a new .22lr what brand of scope should i go with somthing fairly accurate and cheap tasco, simmons?

i do alot of rabbit hunting in the bush, mostly with shotgun but i do like .22 sometimes for a challange, i dont wana spend over 100$$

I think I'd get a Bushnell 3-9 that is intended for rimfire. Up close you might want low power, and 9x is handy for shooting gophers at afar.

With a .22lr I'd go with a cheap Simmons. I don't think I would spend alot of money for a scope when it come down to .22lr. The round isn't the most accurate anyways. Just my opinion.

I guess some do not know the accuracy of the lowly .22....I also guess that the most used caliber used in competition such as Olympics, bench shooting small bores and target shooters is this "inaccurate caliber". I personally have watched some competitive shooters make "one ragged hole" at 100 yards.

I use the cheaper Bushnell 3x9x scopes as well as Simmons and high power Tascos. Cheap but quite adequate for close and long distance shooting...If you are not going to use the gun for spectacular target shooting, I would not spend $300 + on a scope for a $200 gun. My average costs were under $200 for the gun,$50+ ( off EEs) scopes and shoot out to 200 yards ..no problem.

Either your gun isn't accurate,or you use poor quality loads. My Cooper will put five SK Standard Plus into an inch at 100 yards on a regular basis.

Bushnell 3x9 rimfire complements my Marlin 60 beautifully. At around $50 I think it is a good value for walking the bush.

For a higher quality rimfire scope, look into a Mueller APV. A member used to have them on EE for sale. Use the search function to find him.

Mark 4 clone!!! :D

Honestly when it comes to rimfire there's a lot of cheap knock off scopes that will hold zero and give you a lot of options for the investment.. I'm running a cheap leapers 6-24x56 on my CZ and couldn't be happier with the the performance.. It isn't overly clear at higher powers but I wasn't expecting a miracle from a $100 piece of glass. Even with having to invest in an adapter rail to accommodate the large objective it was a cheap upgrade. I just hated running out of elevation adjustment on my tasco varmint beyond 250 yards..
