Looking for a semi with a rail in front of the trigger guard and a threaded barrel that will shoot most ammo without issue

I heard the Mosquito is very fussy so I am looking at the GSG and Walther so far, oh, and the Browning - just wondering if anyone knows how fussy they are over ammo ?
Any chance either would cycle .22 subsonic (hard to find now) or .22 quiet ?

Maybe I should give up and go with a revolver ?

have a tree rat problem on the farm and don't want to disturb too many neighbours :)

It's true that 22 shorts and/or low velocity 22LR will generally not cycle a semi...but you can still use them, the CCI Quiets at least (depending on your magazine), and operate your semi as a SPBAR (straight pull bolt)...

Anyway, regarding cycling Quiets: I have a slew of .22's, and the only one (so far) that will cycle Quiets, is the cheapest rifle I own: the Norinco JW-14, using a slightly modified Champion Marlin M70 25-round banana mag...a fun rifle, but certainly not one that meets your requirements, RE: the threaded barrel and under-stock rail.

Curious to see what responses you get...

Cheers

Can't shoot pistols on the farm unless it happens to be a licensed range, so kind of a moot point.
However my Buckmark will cycle 40gr SV which is in fact subsonic. It's still bloody loud though.

Get yourself a nice long-barrel bolt-action rifle and enjoy the sweet sound of silence.
