Turns out Tenda shipped me Extra Long Rifle shotshells. Useless
Until this morning I didn't even know these existed... couple questions
1- Are they hard on rifled barrels?
2- What's the effective range on them for gopher control? One page tells me sub-10 feet which doesn't help me. Hoping to use them around the farm yard.
Has anybody tried the 45lc shotshells you can buy? Same idea as the .22 ones. Thought it might be fun in my revolver but don't want to damage it.

I wish they were 22 mag. I could at least use those.
This here^^^Before the cabin became a home (and the mice were denied free access), we used to shoot them with 22 shot inside. At more than 5' from the muzzle it barely disabled them. Made for lots of fun shootin indoors tho!
extra long hasn't been made snice 1935. if their the crimped one their made for .22lr chambers and function fine.
See, that's what I thought, but since they were so cheap I just put them on the shelf until I thought of a purpose for them. Thanks for the info.
Ive used them. They are dangerous. They dont generate enough velocity, and dont mushroom, so the tiny steel BB's can, and will ricochet back into your face.

lead shot is used in all .22 shotshells

Ok. I'll take your word for that. However, what I said about ricochet is true. I had a 3/4" plywood target at 20 yards. The shot was ricocheting back. One BB hit me square between the eyes. True story
